This project is so simple you will be surprised at how entertained it keeps older babies and young toddlers. I will admit, for as long as I have worked with kids of all ages, I had never heard of a tugging box until I found this project.
To make one of these tugging boxes, you need a small cardboard box and a variety of ribbons, felt strips, and pipe cleaners. Use a pencil or something similar to punch holes all over the box and thread the ribbon and other items through the holes. This activity box not only gives the child a chance to work on fine motor skills and offers a fun sensory experience, it even helps them learn about cause and effect and much more.
