Eensies has a great idea for using newspapers, catalogues, and magazines-have your child find a specific and circle it as many times as they can!! Fabulous for reviewing letters with younger children and can be adapted for older children by having them circle sight words (the, and, or, etc.).
Would make a great activity for literacy centers!!

NOOOOOoooooooo!!!! This was used as a punishment alternative to Lines (or 6 of the best – shows how long ago it was!!)when I was a child!! I still circle vowels in newspaper articles when bored/on long journeys, but HATED it when younger! Don’t subject a new generation to it!
