miroArt Projects for Kids has lots of great lesson plans that teach about a specific artist.  Joan Miro is famous for his People and Dog in Sun.  Elementary students will have lots of fun learning about the artist and copying his style of art to create their own masterpiece!  See the art project and lesson plan here.

    Great tip and I absolutely love Joan Miro’s art. However, one correction–Miro was a male not female. He was a Spanish artist of the first half of the 20th century and I think the name is pronounced similar to “Juan” rather than how we would pronounce the woman’s name “Joan”.
