I love this idea from Map of the Month to make a spooky Halloween map using town names that are a little scary.
They have a full list but it includes things like:
Pumpkin Hollow, NY
Devil’s Slide, UT
Tombstone, AZ
Witch Lake, MI
Add to the fun by having kids do a report on one of these spooky towns, trying to determine why it was given such a strange name and if there are any other fun facts about the town or the area.
What a fun way to bring a little Halloween learning into the classroom.
