We live very close to a wonderful hands-on science museum, but not every educator lives close enough to take advantage of the learning experiences that a museum can provide. Fortunately, most museums have printable activities that any teacher anywhere can use in the classroom. Some are specific to the museum (like scavenger hunts for field trips in the museum), but others include fabulous curriculum based experiments, lesson plans and worksheets!!
For example, our local museum provides a series of experiments and lessons that correlate with the third grade.
Click here for a link to the PDF and here for all of the educator guides that the Arizona Science Center provides.
The Clark Planetarium in Utah has lessons for 6th grade Core–solar systems. See here for those PDFs.
Check out your local museum (or one far away!!) to see what lessons they provide!!
