Visiting caves is a great summer activity because it’s often cooler in the cave than it is outside. Caves give you an opportunity to learn about bats and other animals that might live in a cave, how the cave forms, cave paintings and other fun stuff.
Katie at Gift of Curiosity did a fun Montessori-inspired cave unit study with her kids, and it’s got lots of great ideas you can use at home or in a classroom.
Grow crystals, make a cave painting, read books, make a scene of a cave and more with these tips (the post is actually a review of a unit study subscription box, but you could do them on your own easily).
Don’t forget to build a “cave” (aka fort) to read and rest in when your cave adventure is done.
