It’s easy to incorporate seasonal shapes and colors into learning activities, as Toddler Approved did with this super cute and simple beginning word sound pumpkin matching game.
You can check out the whole tutorial over on her website, but the idea is that you write different sight words or Halloween themed words on the pumpkin shapes and then match them, and match them to their beginning sound for an extra challenge.
This can be done on the table, the floor or the wall for a “pumpkin patch” sort of a feel, or hide them around the classroom, house or yard to add a treasure hunt component and get kids moving.
