This is one of those things that is such an easy, fun idea you’ll wonder why you didn’t come up with it yourself. Some kids just love I-Spy books and games, and it actually doesn’t take that much work to make your own I Spy bin and use the printable challenge cards from Sisters with a System to set up your own I spy game.
The cards include things to look for like a number of things that are different colors, things that are hard or soft, shiny or bumpy, even numbers and letters.
You can print their 60 challenge cards or write your own, fill a bin with random stuff and let your kiddo have fun hunting through. This would be a great for a classroom, too!

Johnny Appleseed Day is sometimes celebrated on Sept. 26 because that is John Chapman’s birthday, but even if you’re just doing an apple unit study for fall it’s a great time to talk about Johnny Appleseed.
