Kaly, from Ode to Life and Loves, created these two-sided coins for her boys to play with while learning counting, sorting, and matching. To make the container, she simply covered a cocoa can with scrapbook paper and then cut a hole in the top that was big enough for the coins to fit in. The coins are made using wooden disks and numbers and pictures she printed out.
There are many games she encourages her boys to play with these coins. She sometimes have them sort the coins by number, color, and even theme (depending on the picture). Sometimes they arrange them in numerical order and sometimes Kaly will ask for specific designs that her kids then can hunt for. There are so many possibilities!
