Earth Day is a great day to celebrate with kids, because they tend to be pretty naturally interested in the planet and helping to take care of it. And of course there are things we can all do every day to make the world a little greener.
Natural Beach Living has a great collection of more than 30 Earth Day activities and crafts for kids, from planting in egg shells to making a dough Earth, green and blue yarn pompoms and painting crafts. There’s even a link to my post on upcycled craft supplies — Earth Day would be a great time to raid the recycling bin for crafty materials or even to do a trash tower building challenge.
There’s also a book list if you want to read something about helping the planet with your kids. We love Arthur Turns Green, too, in which the kids learn about different things they can do to live a little greener.
Do you celebrate Earth Day with your kids? I’d love to hear what you do!
