My daughter loves to garden and watch things grow. I bought a tiny seed starting kit to put in her Easter basket, and we planted the seeds over the weekend, so maybe by the end of the summer we will have some beautiful zinnias to enjoy, and either way we will have learned something.
Exploring seeds with kids is a great science project at any age. With the youngest kids you can watch a seed sprout in a plastic bag, while older kids can grow grass in egg shells, grow sprouts and plant seeds in the garden and observe them through the season.
Little Bins for Little Hands has a great collection of seed experiments you can do with kids that you might want to add to your list. I love the little sponge house with the sprout roof.
How do you explore seeds with kids? I’d love to hear your ideas.
