If you have snow where you live, there are all sorts of learning opportunities that can be had with it, from talking about why the big ball goes on the bottom when you build a snowman to observing how snow melts to adding food coloring “paint” to the snow to make art.
This is an idea I hadn’t seen before, which uses Alka-Seltzer tablets
to make interesting things happen to snow in a baggie (you’ll just have to click over to Science Kiddo and try the experiment yourself to see what happens).
This is a great idea for anyone who wants to play with snow but not actually have to be outside to do it (raises hand).

I am not a big fan of snow, its cold and wet and i always have puddles in my house afterwards, however this is just perfect! I know my kids are going to love it! With all the crazy I needed a fun craft to do with my kiddos. Thank you for sharing. I tried to make homemade bath bombs with them but they didn’t love it so much. Oh well. Any other suggestions?
