It seems like in summer we try to freeze just about anything if it will give our kids a cool sensory experience or an opportunity to bring some STEM learning into the hot days.
Our Family Code did a fun science experiment using a frozen baseball to explore elasticity and answer the question “can a frozen baseball bounce as well as a room temperature baseball?”
I’ll let you visit the website to find out for yourself what happened, as well as lots of great information about how a baseball is made, what’s inside it and how temperature effects elasticity. There’s even a printable scientific method worksheet you can use to develop your experiment, record your hypothesis and note what happened.
