My daughter loves the show “Odd Squad,” which is about kids who solve odd problems, usually having something to do with a mathematical concept.
There’s a villain on the show called Odd Todd, and another called Even Steven, so of course that’s what I thought of when I saw this activity for teaching odd and even numbers from the STEM Laboratory.
She uses characters with those same names to teach kids about odd and even numbers. Even Steven plays nicely and shares fairly, while Odd Todd doesn’t, he keeps the bigger pile for himself.
There are printable worksheets here you can use to teach the concept and for kids to try their hand at picking odd and even numbers and even drawing their versions of Odd Todd and Even Steven.
Head over to her page to grab the printables and learn more about this activity.
