I love this idea for a pumpkin engineering project you can do at home with one or two kids. All you need is a pumpkin, a tree, and some imagination (OK, some other materials, too).
Thriving STEM shares this idea for an experiment to determine what material is best at holding a pumpkin as it swings from a tree.
Kids will have lots of fun gathering and testing materials, and all the while they’re making hypotheses, testing experiments and learning about different materials and their properties.
Check out her blog post for what they used and the results of their experiments.
