Corn husk dolls were what many girls on the prairie had to play with it, and it’s a fun activity for today’s kids to learn about how toys could be made from materials that people had at hand when they couldn’t afford to buy dolls or when there weren’t stores nearby that sold them.
This activity of making corn husk dolls from Gift of Curiosity would be a great addition to a unit on pioneer life, while reading the Little House books or when learning about corn.
They’re pretty easy to make and you can decorate them however you like when you are done.
Have you ever made corn husk dolls? I’d love to hear about it!
