It’s always nice to have games to include in unit studies to make learning more fun or to present information in different ways. If you’re learning about the ocean, this printable game is a fun way for kids to learn the names of different ocean animals.
It’s called a bump game because when kids roll the die to get an animal, they put one marker on the image of the animal. Two markers secures the animal, but another player can “bump” their piece off that animal so that it counts for them instead. The game ends when all animals are secured and the player with the most animals collected wins.
The game includes animals like anemones, clams, urchin, sea horse, moon snail, jellyfish and more, and you can learn about the animals as you play or read some books or watch videos about the same creatures before or after you play.
