There are so many fun things to do with Legos, I feel like smart moms and teachers are never going to run out of ways to use them to teach and help kids understand different concepts.
I love this idea for using Legos to represent soil layers from Little Bins for Little Hands. Start with a person and a plant on the top and you can build a root that goes through all the different layers of soil down to the bedrock.
She also has printable Lego earth science coloring pages, which include a page showing the layers of soil. There’s a layers of the Earth one, too, and I can’t help but think there must be a way to represent that using blocks, too. What do you think?
