With Election Day right around the corner, it’s a good time to take some time in class (or with your kids at home) to talk about why we have elections and how the process works.
Year Round Homeschooling has a great unit study for Election Day that includes information on the history of Election Day, how often elections are held, how the Electoral College works, and lots of great videos kids can watch to learn more about elections and voting.
She also has free printable packs for Election Day and election night, which give kids a chance to learn about the issues for each candidate and count electoral votes. Of course this year we might not have all the votes right away but they can keep track on election night and beyond as votes get tallied.
