Juneteenth is a holiday that hasn’t always been widely celebrated, but it is getting more popular as a celebration of the end of slavery coming to Galveston, Texas.
If you want to teach your kids (or yourself!) about Juneteenth, this post from Peanut Butter Fish Lessons has some quick videos you can watch, books to check out and other resources to enhance your learning.
Woo Jr. also has some great printable fact sheets and worksheets including information on the history of the holiday, vocabulary and a word search and a writing page. There are recipes and songs there, too, so you can have a full on Juneteenth unit study.
