I love geoboards, for kids to play with, of course, but I also think they are fun for grown ups to tinker with. The store-bought versions can be quite expensive but there are a lot of DIY options.
Picklebums shares an idea for a sort of found object DIY geoboard that I really like. The base is a piece of foam, and she added fun things like bamboo skewers and little plastic party swords to the mix to make it a little more interesting.
It became a stringing, stacking and lacing activity and the results are really cool.
Have you ever made a geoboard? I’d love to know what materials you used.
