If you are looking for a way to make reading more fun for your kids, check out this idea shared by Kaley on Less Than Perfect Parent. She made a reading journal with her daughter so they could keep track of all of the books they read together.
A child can use the reading journal to write about their favorite part of the book, the characters they liked best, and even the characters they didn’t like. If the child is too young to write much, they can dictate to you and you can write for them. You can also do what Kaley does with her 4-year-old, encourage your child to use the cover of the book and try to write the title. Your child can also draw pictures related to the book.
