Mardi Gras maybe isn’t a holiday you automatically think of as relating to learning activities, but with its bold colors and great music it’s a great theme to attach to other lessons or a chance to learn about Louisiana culture.
I found some great printable resources at Teachers Pay Teachers if this is something you’d like to incorporate into your plans for the next month (Mardi Gras is March 5).
CreativeCOTA has a collection for younger kids (pre-K, kindergarten and first) that includes writing activities, word searches, counting worksheets, number puzzles and more. It’s 33 pages and runs $6.50.
For older kids check out the Mardi Gras reading comprehension and more pack from Mia McDaniel. In 10 pages it shares 22 short nonfiction passages about Mardi Gras complete with reading comprehension questions. It also includes an art activity, a game and more and costs $4.50.
Do you have any Mardi Gras learning activities you like to use in the classroom or at home? I’d love to hear about them.
