Take the Olympics outside and make some natural crafts with an Olympic theme.
KC Edventures has a pretty idea for making the Olympic rings with natural materials. Check out the post to see what they used for each of the colors and how to extend the activity to gather materials and get a little crafty if you don’t have, say, something bring blue in your vicinity.
Laurel crowns were originally used in the Pythian Games (which came before the Olympics) as an honor to the winner. The tradition was revived when Greece hosted the Olympics, and while they aren’t being used this year it’s still fun to make leaf wreaths with natural (or artificial) materials. Combine them with your backyard Olympic games and give crowns to the winners. Check out the how to at Mama Smiles.
