This strikes me as something that would be fun to do during the summer, or to have a couple of easy activities on hand when you need some quiet time.
Life Over C’s has collected more than 50 food-related activities that you can use to build a food unit study or use independently.
There are math games, projects related to stories, crafts, food science experiments and, of course, sensory fun with food.
Why not spend a day reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar complete with food props, while drinking color-changing lemonade and making apple art?
You could also add in recipes, a trip to the grocery store, farm stand or farmer’s market, and lots of other things, too.
There’s some really great, fun-sounding stuff here. Go check it out!
