The holy month of Ramadan begins on April 12, and lanterns are an important symbol of this time of year as they symbolize light and hope. Homes are often decorated with lanterns during this month, and making lantern crafts is a good way for kids to learn about this special time, regardless of whether they observe Ramadan.
A Crafty Arab has a great collection of lantern crafts she has made with her kids over the years, including paper chain lanterns, a lantern hair accessory, a lantern card, a coloring page kids can use to count the days of fasting and more.
The one pictured is a lantern made with foil. So pretty! Check them all out at A Crafty Arab.
