There are a lot of spooky sounds to go with the spooky sights of Halloween, and it can be fun to try to make your own scary sounds at home or in the classroom.
One Time Through has a great post on experimenting with making spooky sounds, including the materials they gathered and how they explored and collected different sounds.
This one has a great tie-in to an old Magic School Bus episode where the kids are in a “haunted” house and hear all sorts of creepy sounds. You can watch the episode and talk about how different things make sounds that can sound scary, then go on a hunt for materials to make your own sound effects.
Check out the blog post for all the info and different things they used.
