When kids are learning to read, a lot of time is spent focused on learning sight words, because these words are so common in written language and are not always that easy to sound out or guess.
This spring flower sight word game from 123 Homeschool for Me focuses on the sight words that first graders are commonly expected to know, and the spring theme is perfect for this time of year.
It’s a cute little game and there are two different boards that you can print and use that cover all the first grade sight words, so they are a great way to learn through play, too.

I am not a fan of sight word reading (Spring Flowers Sight Words Game) unless a word can not be sounded out phonetically as in the word “once”. Children should be taught the phonetic approach for words like “let” in your game. Otherwise, you are teaching them to guess words and when they come to a word they don’t recognize, they are not able to decode or sound it out.
