Check out this amazing STEM activity shared by Ana on Babble Dabble Do. She came up with this idea to help her daughter explore more about how chain reactions work. What I love about it is that you can set it up quickly and easily, and kids can certainly help. If you have older children, you can challenge them to make it even larger than Ana’s experiment and try different combinations (Ana shares a list of variations and experiments you can try). All you need to make one of these ‘stixplosions’ at home are some popsicle sticks, rubber bands, and blocks.
Learn how to make your own chain reaction experiment and watch the video: Make Your Own Stixplosions.
