Did you know you can make fun, shaped crayons using the summer sun and heat? Allison, from Not Time for Flash Cards, explains how she used bits and piece of old crayons, a cookie cutter, and some aluminum foil to do just that. She had made several crayons using an oven before and decided to try it using just the sunshine and it worked. This would be a great experiment for the kids too — they could keep track of the temperature outside, how long it takes the crayons to make, and perhaps even a little about mixing together colors to create new colors.
