The hardest part of Thanksgiving Day/weekend can sometimes be figuring out how to entertain the kids without resorting to TV and computers. Especially when there are younger kids around, there are times when they are going to need to be occupied when there’s not necessarily an adult available to closely supervise them.
This list of 14 kids activity ideas for Thanksgiving is a great place to start coming up with ideas for kids to use on Thanksgiving and beyond. From coloring pages and holiday-themed books to gathering natural materials for the centerpiece, there’s lots of stuff here that kids will enjoy that don’t always need a lot of help from adults. Check out the whole list at EDventures for Kids.
Another idea I love, from Kid Friendly Things to Do, is this Stuff the Turkey game. Just make a paper bag into a turkey (with cute paper bag legs, of course!), use balled-up paper or soft balls to toss, repeat endlessly, indoors or out. Head to her blog for the complete tutorial.
Do you have any go-to games, activities or family traditions for Thanksgiving weekend? I’d love to hear about them!
