Ooh, I love this idea for turning what kids did over the summer into art.
I found it on Pinterest though the link was to the Instagram page of Ridgy Didge Resources, who had reposted the idea from Learning with Julia, who was inspired by Cassie Stephens. Did you get all that?
The idea is to come up with different activities the kids might have done over the summer and basic colors and shapes to go with them. So as you can see in the photo one option was to represent reading a book with a yellow zigzag.
At the end of the process each child has an individual — and very colorful — representation of what they did over the summer, and it will get them talking about those things in a different way than if you just asked what they did over the summer.
So much fun!
