I realized that headline is a little controversial, but it’s true that, when teaching letter recognition to little ones, you don’t necessarily want to teach them in alphabetical order.
As Sarah from How Wee Learn notes, it’s a great idea to start teaching letter recognition with the letters of a child’s name.
After that, she says, some letters are easier to learn than others, and of course letters that are common become easier to recognize.
And as a parent I can totally see the reasoning behind spreading out b and d, and p and q, for example.
Do you teach letter recognition in a particular way? I’d love to hear about it.

With summer coming on in the Northern Hemisphere, I feel like we all need some fun activities we can do with one kid at home or a bunch in a classroom when it’s too hot to go outside (I guess you can say the same for if it’s too cold to go out in the Southern Hemisphere, too).
