Not only is this a fun craft to make in honor of autumn and the changing color of the leaves, you can also use it to reinforce so many other lessons for young kids. First of all, you can work on color recognition. Have kids sort the cereal by color (working on another skill – sorting). You can also have the kids count out a certain number of each color for each tree. The act of picking up the cereal pieces and gluing them onto the tree will have them working on their fine motor skills. What more can you ask for in one activity?
