harry potter arithmancy codeArithmancy isn’t really a school subject like it is in Harry Potter, but using numbers to decode messages is still a fun test of logic for kids at Halloween or any other time.
Teach Beside Me has a rundown of the basics and history of arithmancy (J.K. Rowling didn’t make it up) and some printable pages with Harry Potter quotes they can decipher to practice their skills. There’s even a bit of divination related to a “personality number” you can derive from your name.
Once you understand the basics you can use the code to write your own secret messages, too. Kids who love codes and riddles are sure to enjoy this!
