We’ve made what were supposed to be super strong bubbles before, but nothing quite like this un-poppable bubble.
Hip Homeschool Moms has a video from Labracadabra that shows how to make and play with bubbles that aren’t literally unpoppable but do stick around for a long time and can bounce on a microfiber glove.
All you need is water, dish soap and corn syrup to make these bubbles, and they’re a great science lesson because you can talk about why bubbles pop (because the water in the bubbles evaporates) and why these bubbles last longer (the corn syrup forms a weak bond with the hydrogen in the water molecules, making evaporation take longer).
Plus they’re just really fun to play with. If you have a place indoors you don’t mind doing it, this is a great cold-weather or rainy day activity, too.
Have you ever tried this recipe? How did it work?

What are the proportions of water, dish soap and corn syrup? This sounds like fun.

My son did this to make giant bubbles in the front yard when he was about 10. It worked so well that traffic slowed down to watch.
