A Circle of Thanksgiving is sort of a story that goes with a beaded bracelet, each color representing a portion of the story of the Pilgrims and the first Thanksgiving. It explores a little bit of the history behind the holiday, which you can delve into more or less depending on the age and interest of ths kids you’re working with.
The Preschool Toolbox blog has the story and craft as well as some other Thanksgiving themed activities to go along with it. There’s a what doesn’t belong worksheet and an idea for using more beads to practice counting in the teens.
These activities would be fun for a classroom, for use in centers or to do with your kids at home.
