Celebrate Canada Day with a Free Printable Bingo Game

June 28, 2020 by Sarah White Leave a Comment

July 1 is Canada Day, and whether you’re Canadian or just looking for a fun excuse to celebrate, it’s the perfect opportunity to bring a little red and white into your summer plans. Even if you don’t live in Canada, Canada Day can be a fun warm-up for Fourth of July celebrations in the U.S. – think of it as a double dose of festive fun!

One of the easiest (and cutest!) ways to get kids involved is with this free printable Canada Day Bingo game from Living Life and Learning. It’s colorful, educational, and full of iconic Canadian images that spark curiosity and conversation.

What’s on the Bingo Cards?

The printable bingo set is filled with Canadian symbols and treasures, making it more than just a game – it’s a mini cultural lesson. Kids will get to recognize and talk about:

  • Mounties – Canada’s famous red-coated Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
  • Moose and bears – wildlife that Canada is known for.
  • Maple leaves and syrup tapping – iconic symbols of the country.
  • Canadian coins and the flag – fun ways to explore money and national pride.
  • Snowy owls, polar bears, and geese – more creatures kids love spotting on the cards.

These images are bright, fun, and instantly recognizable, making the game enjoyable for kids of all ages (and pretty entertaining for adults, too).

Why Play Canada Day Bingo?

Bingo is a great classroom or family activity because it’s:

  • Simple to set up – just print and play.
  • Perfect for groups – great for school, camp, or family gatherings.
  • Educational – sneak in learning while the kids are having fun.
  • Reusable – laminate the cards and use them year after year.

Plus, it’s an interactive way to keep kids busy during a long holiday weekend while still feeling festive.

How to Use It

  • Print out the cards and calling pieces from Living Life and Learning.
  • Cut out the cards, grab some bingo chips or coins, and get ready to play.
  • First one to line up a row, column, or full card gets to yell “BINGO!” (or maybe “CANADA!” for the day).

Where to Get the Free Printable

Head over to Living Life and Learning to grab your free Canada Day bingo cards. Print a set for your kids, your classroom, or even your Canada Day barbecue guests – it’s guaranteed to get everyone laughing and learning together.

Crafts from the Beach Kids Can Make

Whenever you go to the beach with kids, you’re sure to come home with some seashells and more than a little sand. Let’s use some of those treasures to make fun crafts.

This handprint craft is made with a sand-infused salt dough and some little shells from the beach. It’s a cute way to remember how little your kids were on that beach trip. Find the instructions at From Under a Palm Tree.

Here’s another take on sand dough that was used to make little ornaments and sculptures. Get the details from Pink Stripey Socks.

Moms and Crafters used air dry clay and seashells to make these cute necklaces. She used the storebought clay but you can also make your own air dry clay if you’d rather.

Crafts on Sea used a shell to make a whale, but I’m sure you could take this idea and make lots of different creatures. I love the idea of sea creatures made with shells like fish or a jellyfish or an octopus using the same method. They also have a seashell decoration made with salt dough that’s really cute and would be fun for kids to paint. Poke a hole before it dries for hanging if you want.

Or take a bunch of little shells and decorate a frame like these from Rhythms of Play. They used a handprint instead of a picture but you could also put in a picture from the beach trip.

This is probably one for the mamas to make because it uses epoxy, but I also wanted to share these cute and easy shell hair pins from Thrifty Mama Ramblings, which kids are sure to want for their mermaid pretend play.

Or how about some sensory play straight from the beach? Use store bought sand if you don’t have a beach nearby to make this beach sand slime from The Mama Notes. Thrown in some shells and kids will love playing with this one.
