Anime Coloring Pages for Kids

July 6, 2022 by Sarah White Leave a Comment

My daughter is really into anime right now, and while she likes to draw her own versions of characters, if your child doesn’t like to draw that much these anime coloring pages from Kids Activities Blog can be a lot of fun for them.

This is a great activity for older kids who might not be as into art as they used to be but could get drawn (ha!) into coloring some of their favorite characters.

There are 10 Anime pages in all, including Aang from “Avatar: the Last Airbender” and Kyoko Sakura from “Puella Magi Madoka Magica,” among others.

The Anime pages are in a downloadable, free PDF pack you can grab from Kids Activities Blog.

Anime Coloring in for adults can have a range of health benefits, from reducing stress and helping to manage anxiety to boosting creativity and improving brain function. Coloring in can be a great way to relax and switch off from the world around us, allowing us to take a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Coloring in is also a fantastic way to de-stress and unwind. By focusing on the intricate details and shapes of a dragon coloring in page, we can divert our attention away from the stresses of life and into a creative and calming activity. Studies have shown that coloring can help to reduce cortisol levels, the hormone that is responsible for stress. Additionally, the act of coloring can help to improve our mood and overall wellbeing, as it helps to reduce feelings of anxiety and depression.

Furthermore, coloring in can help to boost creativity and improve brain function. By working on a dragon coloring in page, we are strengthening our neural pathways and allowing our brains to work more effectively. As we work on the intricate details of the page, we are engaging our problem-solving skills and allowing our minds to explore different solutions. This can help to increase our creativity and allow us to come up with innovative ideas.

Finally, coloring in can help to improve our focus and concentration. As we work through the various shapes and details of the dragon coloring in page, we are training our brains to stay focused on the task at hand. This can be very beneficial for adults, as it can help them to focus on tasks at work or school and increase their productivity.

In conclusion, coloring in for adults can have a range of health benefits, from reducing stress and helping to manage anxiety to boosting creativity and improving brain function. It is a great way to take a break from the stresses of everyday life and allow our minds to explore different solutions. All in all, coloring in is a fantastic activity that can help to improve our focus, concentration, creativity and overall wellbeing.

Book Review: The No-Brainer Brain Explainer

Human brains are pretty amazing, allowing us to think, feel, create, communicate, move and more. But humans aren’t the only animals with cool brains, as Crab Museum explains in the book The No-Brainer Brain Explainer (illustrated by Bruno Valasse).

This book, aimed at kids in grades 1-4, is colorful and silly but also educational about how brains actually work, with billions of neurons sending electrical and chemical signals around the body.

“Everything we think, feel and experience comes from an electrical relay race, with neurons passing chemical batons to each other,” the book says. “The constant chatter of billions of brain cells creates your entire world.”

The book compares the brains of mammals to those of crabs (the book is “written” by a crab after all) and notes that crabs have fewer neurons and of course are much smaller, but they have separate parts of their brains that control their eyes and their legs. Crabs are also capable of remembering things, using tools and solving puzzles.

Some animals’ brains allow them to know more about their world in different ways from humans, such as spiders being sensitive to vibrations in their webs and catfish having an amazing sense of taste, with taste sensors all over their bodies.

It notes that 95 percent of brain activity goes toward things we do unconsciously, like breathing, walking and catching a ball flying toward us. It also talks about dreams, memory, how our emotions try to predict the future, where brains came from and fun facts about brains. For example, did you know a sperm whale is believed to have the biggest brain of any creature that’s even lived? Their brains weigh 18 pounds, compared to just 2.5 pounds for humans.

Information on what creatures have the smallest brains, the toughest brains, the most brains and those who actually eat their own brains will delight kids (and maybe gross them out a little bit). They’ll also enjoy learning about the mycelium network of fungi, which is like a brain without a body, and slime molds, which are like a brain without a brain.

It ends talking about why human brains are so special because we’ve found ways to work together, communicate and build communities on a scale bigger than any other animal.

Kids and adults alike will enjoy this colorful, silly and informational book about brains!

About the book: 64 pages, hardcover. Published 2026 by Wide Eyed Editions. Suggested retail price $19.99.
