A blog reader was nice enough to direct me to her site where I found this (and many other) really great activity for The Very Hungry Caterpillar! Using common household items, you can make your own colorful caterpillar. Great craft for preschool or toddler age children. You could even cut out shapes of the food the caterpillar eats (or pictures of the food from magazines) and stick them all inside the tube as you read the book.
When my daughter was younger she had a ton of LEGO bricks, and I’m honestly a little sad we got rid of most of them because there are so many fun things to do with LEGOs outside of the kits you bought them in.
Thanks for checking out the site! I love the idea of cutting the shapes and putting it inside the tube!! Great addition to this activity!!
