This is such a fun idea and I’d love to do it with adults as well as kids. Using a picture of the person as a base, give them the prompt “what does your imagination look like?”
You could also use “what are you thinking about?” or “what do you love?”
This becomes a sort of self-portrait and a way for kids (or adults!) to talk about themselves, what their paintings mean and why they chose the things they did to represent their thoughts or feelings.

When my daughter was younger she had a ton of LEGO bricks, and I’m honestly a little sad we got rid of most of them because there are so many fun things to do with LEGOs outside of the kits you bought them in.
