Who says you need a computer to learn code? I love this simple idea from Left Brain Craft Brain to use binary code and red and white pony beads to make coded candy canes.
This easy project uses materials most crafty mamas or teachers already have on hand, and allows you to introduce the basics of binary code to kids.
They can start with their names then move on to secret messages, or you can code a word for them to decipher.
And it makes a cute holiday decoration when it’s done, too.
Check out the blog for all the details and a printable code key.
