Easter Kitchen Science: Can you Dissolve an Eggshell?

March 18, by Sarah White. Leave a Comment

This is an experiment that is both really cool and frankly creeps me out a little bit. It’s fun to do experiments with eggs around Easter but of course you can do this any time.

Go Science Kids has a great post and how to make an eggshell dissolve (you do have to wipe it away, it doesn’t disappear) and why this happens.

Kids will probably love to play with the “naked” egg (yes, it stays whole because the inner membrane of the egg stays intact) and you can even really gently bounce it from a low height.

Check out the post for all the details.
