If you are looking for a wonderful art project to do with the kids, check out colorful canvas creations made by Jean, from The Artful Parent, and her daughter. They used glue and stretched canvas first and then uses watercolors and were surprised at the effect.
While white craft glue actually resists paint when you use it on paper, when they used it on the canvas, it actually concentrated the color.
Art lessons are an important part of development. Being able to express themselves in a free flow motion with the glue is care free and imaginative. Using the glue to try out different effects helps to teach consequences or materials in a tactile creative way.
