Grow a Rainbow Crystal Experiments

February 23, by Sarah White. Leave a Comment

Whether for St. Patrick’s Day or spring, rainbows are everywhere this time of year. Add a little STEM to your study of rainbow by growing a crystal rainbow.

The Homespun Hydrangea has all the details on how to make borax crystals on rainbow colored pipe cleaners to grow your rainbow.

If you want to skip the borax, check out this post from STEAMsational on making a rainbow with salt crystals.

Either way your kids are sure to have fun learning about how crystals form and observing how fast they can grow. Maybe if you’re OK with using borax you can make one of each and observe the differences?
