I have shared sidewalk chalk obstacle courses before, but I really like this one from Toots Mom is Tired because it focuses on developing gross motor skills like following a line, jumping and spinning.
This is also a great way for littles to get some energy out, and helps get kids moving even when it’s hot outside.
You can draw the course to be as long or as short as you like and make up different rules for the different shapes as you like. You could add in things like doing jumping jacks or toe touches or jumping on one foot if you wanted as well.
And if it’s too hot, cold, or wet to do this outside, try using tape on the floor.
If you are looking for fun active games to get the kids moving, I highly recommend this Floor Is Lava Board Game
Sidewalk chalk is a great way to entertain the kids and you don’t need to buy it. It is so easy to make at home and inexpensive too. Sidewalk chalk is great for adults who like to draw or doodle too. Grab the kids and find some concrete sit down and have fun.
