Everyone (except dogs, maybe?) seems to love fireworks around the Fourth of July, and here’s a cool pop rocket you can make with kids which isn’t exactly a firework but can help get you into that spirit.
You can find the full instructions at Playdough to Plato, but they’re made with pretty easy-to-find stuff and an easy science experiment for kids. She even explains the science behind the reaction so you can build a little learning into the fun.
Ask kids what they think will happen and why, then try it with your own rockets.
