A year in review is a great way to look back at the year that is ending, and it’s a good way to get kids to use their writing skills, too.
Print out a year in review printable (this one is from the Resourceful Mama, but you can find plenty of others online) and give one to each family member. You can write them for kids who aren’t writing yet, but it’s fun to let kids fill out their own as soon as they are able so you have a record of their handwriting, too (just remember to translate strange spellings now while you can remember what they mean).
Do you do a year in review with your kids? I’d love to hear about it!

Knowing the alphabet is the basis for learning how to read, so it’s important to get it down. Kids need to know the differences between letters, to be able to recognize their shapes and to know what sounds the letters make individually before they can start combining them in words.
