It just so happened that after I wrote about exploring the senses of taste and sound earlier this week, I came across this post from iGameMom all about science experiments to learn about smell.
These activities explore how we are able to smell, identifying people by their smell, smelling common household items, even talking about why farts smell (because you know there’s a kid who is going to ask).
I love the idea of testing who is most sensitive to smells, too, by using different amounts of essential oil or fruit juice in water to see who can smell the smallest amount.
