Childs Play Music shares this article on creating musical instruments with scrap metal. How perfect would these be for yard play? Not only do they resemble up-cycled or reclaimed art they are practical and imaginative. I don’t think I would install one too close to my back door as I have an intolerance to loud noises but if your child can bang out a tune then you have it made.
Inspired by the book “Musical Instrument Design” (See Sharp Press; 1996, US$18.95).
There are lot’s of music learning resources available online too. Check out these Music games and Learning tools and Music Learning Flash Cards.

Thanks for sharing my blog post with your readers. I thought you might like to know that the 2nd blog post in the series is up – it’s how to build a strong, safe and very easy-to-build PVC frame (the same frame as in the right hand image in your post). http://childsplaymusic.com.au/2013/07/10/building-a-pvc-frame-for-scrap-metal-musical-instruments/
